Preparing Your Property for Delivery
A little preparation before delivery day helps avoid delays or damage:
- Clear overhead obstacles. Low-hanging tree branches or wires near the drop-off spot can interfere with a truck's tilting bed. Trim or note these when scheduling.
- Mark underground utilities if needed. If you're placing the container somewhere other than a driveway, such as on a lawn, it's worth knowing what's buried underneath, especially for longer-term rentals.
- Ensure truck access. Roll-off trucks need a straight, reasonably wide approach and room to maneuver. Narrow alleys or tight turns can limit where a container can be placed.
- Protect your driveway. Ask about placing boards under the container's contact points, particularly in hot weather when asphalt is softer and more prone to marking.
